The 3-years curriculum of the IRTG
The IRTG’s curriculum consists of CRC-specific, recurrent events as well as an individual qualification of the doctoral students. This 3 years curriculum can be finished, once the curricular demands have been accomplished. Following the recommendations of the DRS for structured programs, the students have to achieve 30 credit points (CPs) within the 6 semesters of the curriculum to accomplish the curriculum, whereas 1 CP corresponds to a time and effort being equivalent to 1.5 contact hours per semester (SWS), or two full workshop days (à 8 hrs). 17,5 CPs have to be achieved in mandatory modules of the curriculum, which mainly involve the (obligatory) participation in recurrent IRTG events (red elements) and at least one course on good scientific practice/research integrity. As such, the students already complete half of the curriculum by participating in networking activities, which are typical for CRCs and which are needed for efficiently conducting collaborative research.
